Owl City Music

Owl City, my favorite music. Owl City is music that is soft and light, like the flap of an owl's wings. Owl City is most well known for two of his songs, Fireflies and Good Time. Other than those songs, very occasionally, his music is a rare sight (or should I say, sound) on the radio.

Wait. Right. You may be wondering why I refer to Owl City as "him" not "them".  Owl City is not, in fact, a band, as many presume. He is just one person, Adam Young, from Owatonna, Minnesota.

You might expect that I like Owl City's music just because of his owl-related stage name. That is not, in fact true -- I was introduced to Owl City in 2009 by a cousin who loved the song "Fireflies" and thought I ought to hear it. Only then did I realize that the name of the artist matched my one fervent passion.

Currently, Owl City has 5 full albums and 2 EPs.

-Of June (Debut EP, 2007) Most well-known song is probably Hello Seattle.

-Maybe I'm Dreaming (1st full album, 2008) This album was pretty ignored on charts and was never very recognized.

-Ocean Eyes (2nd full album, 2009) This album is still Owl City's most well known. It contained the massive hit "Fireflies" and got Owl City the most recognition.

-All Things Bright and Beautiful (3rd full album, 2011) Again, this album was not very popular on charts or radio.

-The Midsummer Station (4th full album, 2012) This album held the hit "Good Time" but the song did not bring any popularity to the other songs of the album.

-Ultraviolet (2nd EP, 2014) This album held only 2 songs that were not included on Mobile Orchestra and did not gain much popularity.

-Mobile Orchestra (5th full album, 2015) This album has so far failed to get on the top charts or radio stations.

This is all to say that while Owl City may not be an international hit, he is what I think of as a perfect, refined and thoroughly amazing artist!
